This creamy Hawaiian fruit salad recipe is the perfect blend of creamy goodness and tropical fruit! It’s also such an easy recipe to throw together and is always a crowd-pleaser!
We love to pair this creamy fruit salad with a Hawaiian movie night! It works great with Lilo and Stitch, 50 First Dates, or Just Go with It! We also love it for a Moana Movie Night or a Hawaii Themed Movie Night!
We chose to use fruit cocktail, but you can use fresh fruit if you prefer.
You’ll love this recipe as a special movie night at home, potlucks, and family dinner!
What Ingredients Do You Need For This Tropical Fruit Salad Recipe?
- 30 oz can fruit cocktail, drained
- 20 oz can pineapple chunks, drained
- 8 oz can mandarin oranges, drained
- 10.5 oz package miniature marshmallows
- 16 oz Cool Whip
- 8 oz Cream Cheese, room temperature
What Other Ingredients Can You Put Into This Yummy Fruit Salad?
You can always mix in mangoes, kiwi, fresh strawberries, grapes, banana slices, and even nuts to this delicious fruit salad. If you do bananas, remember they’ll brown pretty quickly, so serve it fresh. Using a lemon juice on them will help them from turning as fast as well.
You can also add in more maraschino cherries if you’d like to make it more like a typical ambrosia fruit salad.
For a more tropical flavor, you could add in 1 cup of coconut flakes.
If your taste buds like more of a tangy flavor, you can add in 1/3-1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt as well.
You could also use vanilla yogurt if you don’t have cream cheese.
